Red string sewn onto fabric with hand held sewing machine “Cell” is an interactive fiber object with variable dimensions, which morphs out from a process of sculpting, stitching and embroidery with layered canvas cloth. I have always imagined “Cell” to be worn by the viewers and become a living space. A mutual inhabitance, its structure is partly reliant on the human body to hold its form. It is the incorporation of the body in the work and the work in the body, which interests me. This work explores displacement and translocation through a handmade interactive moving object.
